Commander-in-Chief Praises Military and Surprises Military Family with Family Reunion During SOTU
Commander-in-Chief President Trump
With a partisan House Democrat impeachment acquittal at hand in the Senate and with not one Democrat insight wearing an American flag pin, the Commander-in-Chief, President Donald J. Trump praised Americas military, touted a two trillion-dollar re-building of the military, touted the killing of two of the worlds most evil terrorist leaders under his leadership, celebrated a 100-year-old Tuskegee airman and surprised an American soldiers family that was serving in Afghanistan with a live family reunion during his State of the Union address to a full session of Congress.
When the Commander-in-Chief, President Donald J. Trump walked into Congress to thunderous applause and to the shouts of “four more years” to deliver his third State of the Union (SOTU) address to the nation and Congress, we all knew it was going to be a strong and powerful speech as always, and that at some point in his speech, the President would praise our military that he loves so much as he always does, but this time he did some things that no one was expecting.
The President delivered his normal powerful State of the Union address that laid out to the country the great state of our nation’s economy after three years of his excellent leadership. The American economy is the envy of the world right now, and rightfully so with the way our economy has bounced back with his leadership from the eight years of the Obama trickle down economy with Obama’s failed leadership.
It was very sad to watch the Democrats in the chamber to not applaud the President with any part of his speech on the great economic numbers the country is seeing right now. The amazing unemployment rates for all Americans to include the best unemployment numbers for veterans unemployment, black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, youth unemployment and women’s unemployment along with all the other economic successes that the country has seen for the last three years. Nancy Pelosi and friends did not stand once or really even clap hard when they did clap during any part of the President’s speech that talked about the great state of the American economy. Looks like Democrats don’t like the current great state of our great American economy. What’s good for the country and the President is bad for Democrats. Sad, so sad indeed.
After the President delivered the great news on the state of the American economy, he then went on to the best part of his speech for me, the American military and his surprise moment. The President touted the two trillion-dollar re-building of our military, the killing of two terrorist leaders, ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi for which the Democrats did give the President some minor applause for from Pelosi and her minions and the killing of Iran’s terrorist mastermind Qasem Soleimani for which not one Democrat applauded for that I could see. So much for supporting the American military from Democrats when they can’t applaud a flawlessly executed mission by our military of the killing of an evil terrorist that oversaw the killing of so many American soldiers in the Middle East. The President also recognized the family of Kayla Mueller, Carl and Marsha Mueller and the U.S. Special Forces members and the 2019 raid that took out Al-Baghdadi who had killed Kayla. Kayla was a humanitarian aid worker who was kidnapped by ISIS and was repeatable raped and tortured by Al-Baghdadi.
The President gave a special heartwarming salute to an American hero, a WWII veteran and now a newly promoted (honorary) brigadier general and 100-year-old Tuskegee airman Charles McGee. Charles flew over 130 combat missions in WWII and who also served in both the Korea and Vietnam wars before retiring. General McGee is one of the last surviving Tuskegee airmen. The President had earlier signed a bill promoting Charles to Honorary Brigadier General and that the President had also earlier that same day pinned General McGee with his stars. General McGee was wildly applauded in the chamber, and you could just see the joy on his face at being there and being recognized by the Commander-in-Chief. General McGee was so overjoyed by the moment that he saluted the Commander-in-Chief three times. It was truly a heartwarming event to see at the SOTU. Note: This time, that the Democrats did applaud.
The President then did something that was totally unexpected and amazing for a SOTU address when he was praising military families and the sacrifices that they make for all of us. The President recognized the family of Afghanistan deployed SFC (Sergeant First Class) Townsend Williams, Amy Williams and their two children, Elliana and Rowan. The President had set up an unexpected family reunion in the middle of his SOTU address. The first time that is happened that I know about during a SOTU address. The President was thanking Amy for all that she does in working fulltime, taking care of two small children and that she also works to support other military families while her husband Townsend is deployed to Afghanistan on his fourth deployment. The President set it up so perfectly that when he finished his praise of Amy, the President said to her that he had one more surprise for her and her children. The President announced that SFC Williams was there in the chamber to reunite with her and the kids. Then SFC Williams came down the steps into the arms of his beautiful family. It was a truly a fine family reunion. You could see the shock and surprise in Amy’s eyes when the President told her that husband Townsend was there in the chamber with them. SFC Williams was greeted by the chamber with the shouts of U.S.A, U.S.A from the Republicans on the chamber floor. Good job Mr. President.
The President’s State of the Union address was a great address and he hit all the marks that a president should. The President also shows that when he is talking about the United States military that he truly loves the men and women that serve us all so well. He loves them and our veterans so much that it just bleeds out of him when he speaks of them. This was one of President Trumps finest hours as our Commander-in-Chief. Thank you, Mr. President.
